If there’s one thing that rings true for most people, it’s that we are fascinated with history, and especially living history. Even more so when that history is right in our own backyard! That is what Mill Pond Farms Events is all about and we love sharing that history with everyone that walks through our venue doors! More than simply an old house with a newly built reception hall, the original home and property date back more than 170 years-all the way to 1851-when the original home was first built!
For those familiar with Utah history, the Mormon Pioneers arrived in Utah in 1847 after making a long trek across the plains after being ousted from the Midwest. They quickly got busy settling different towns all over Utah and just within a few years had settlements all the way from Northern Utah to Southern Utah (and even outside of Utah), with Mill Pond Farms Events being part of one of those settlements, along with the Benson Grist Mill Historic Site located just East of us.
Through the years this home and property have been loved and taken care of by many families. It has served as a church house, community center and at one point housed the Justice of the Peace and his family. It even used to have several hundred acres associated with it that was farmed by the families that lived here. Even the barn that was built in the 1930s that was used to raise turkeys and chickens under the name of Mill Pond Farms is still standing on the property.
Today, and thanks to permissions from the family, we have incorporated that name (Mill Pond Farms Events) into our business name. We continually strive to honor that legacy by providing the space for the public to come and enjoy and share with their friends and families as well. It is our hope that you enjoy it as much as we have!
