Our Roots
The story of our venue begins with the original rock home. A truly one-of-a-kind historic home that has stood the test of time. It has witnessed over a century and a half of history, making it a meaningful place to begin your own forever story.
- A Living Landmark: Builders constructed the original rock home between 1851 and 1852. Following Mormon settlers in the area in 1847. Utah was still part of Mexico before becoming the Utah Territory. Making it one of the oldest standing structures in Utah!
- The Clark Family Legacy: The Clark family lived in this home for nearly 50 years, from the 1920s to the 1970s. They were the last family to farm the hundreds of acres that originally belonged to the property. They named their farm “Mill Pond Farms,” and we’ve proudly reincorporated their name into our venue. Their large chicken and turkey coop, built in the 1930s, still stands on the property today! They also farmed other crops, such as sugar beets, and had lots of other livestock as well.
- The Start of Stansbury Park: The Clark family sold most of their land in the late 1960s. This decision helped create the community of Stansbury Park. Previously known as “Milton” or “Mill’s Junction.” The home itself sits along the original Lincoln Highway Route.
- A Natural Gem: The “Mill Pond” across the street is a naturally occurring, spring-fed pond. Historically, people even used it for water skiing! Stansbury Lake, the man-made lake nearby, draws its water from this exceptional pond.
A Historic Home Wedding Venue for Your Modern Love Story
The home was a residence until 2014, when the Coulter Family purchased it from the Shepherd Family and turned it into an event venue. This is how it naturally came to be known as the venue at Coulter House. We’re dedicated to preserving this home’s beauty and history, offering one of the most memorable event venues in Utah.
