After a long renovation of the 1850s portion of the home, and since opening in 2015, we have been operating under the name “Coulter House Event Center.” While we still affectionately refer to the home itself as such, the rebranded name of the business (which now encompasses the whole property) is “Mill Pond Farms Events.”
We are excited about this change, as it captures the history of the home and property. Starting around the 1920s, the Clark family that lived here operated their family farm under the name of “Mill Pond Farms,” which used to include several hundred acres of farmland. They farmed sugar beets and had all sorts of animals and livestock, including dairy cows, chickens, turkeys, horses, and more.

The Clark family lived on the property until about 1967, when they sold most of it. That property then helped to start Stansbury Park as we now know it. With the permission of the Clark family, we have now reincorporated the name of their old farm back into our business name as we continue to honor their legacy for years to come.
While we love to host all sorts of events and allow the whole community to come and enjoy this home and property, we are especially excited to preserve the living history of Tooele County and appreciate everyone’s support as we do so!
Other notable historical and other facts about Mill Pond Farms:
- The home was built around 1851-1852 by the Mormon settlers who arrived in what is now Utah in 1847. At the time, Utah was still part of Mexico.
- The home sits along the original Lincoln Highway Route.
- The pond that is across from the home (the “Mill Pond”) is a naturally occurring spring-fed pond. People used to water ski on it back in the 1960s.
- The home at the time of being built was one of just a few homes between Salt Lake City and California.
